A pre-production Nissan LEAF, the world’s first mass-market, all electric zero-emissions car is on show in the UK this month (April).

The family hatchback is being presented to the media, government officials, opinion formers and invited consumers at The O2 in London (April 19-22). It will be the first chance to see and drive an electric vehicle destined for mass production in the UK.

LEAF will goes to the Midlands before heading north to Newcastle’s Centre for Life venue and Nissan’s UK manufacturing plant in Sunderland, where it will eventually be built. Sunderland will be one of three LEAF worldwide manufacturing plants and UK examples of the all-electric car will roll off the production line in 2013, although Nissan LEAF will be on sale in the UK from March 2011.
